This coming-of-age drama/comedy, directed by Christopher Neil, with a nicely subtle screenplay by ex-Tucsonan Mark Jude Poirier, stars David Duchovny, Vera Farmiga, Graham Phillips, Justin Kirk, and Ty Burrell. The Tucson Film Office congratulates everyone involved, and we're proud to have been a part of it. Be sure to check out some images taken on set which have been posted at IMDB, as well as this Wall Street Journal article on the film.

The Audience Award for Best Documentary at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival went to Tucson's own Kirby Dick (This Film Is Not Yet Rated, Outrage) for his latest hard-hitting documentary The Invisible War, an investigation into sexual abuse in the US military. Our hearty congrats to Kirby and his crew on yet another success in a formidable oeuvre.

Hit PBS Series Uses Tucson Locations, Sounds
The Tucson Film Office assisted Live from the Artists Den when they filmed an Amos Lee concert at the historic Fox Theatre on August 23rd. The show was a huge success, thanks in part to local legends Calexico, who served as backing band on a handful of songs. It was a lovely evening, which you'll see on these still photos captured beautifully by local photographers fotovitamina and C. Elliott. The concert itself will be televised on PBS in the near future.

The production required weeks of preparation, involving dozens of technicians skilled in handling such an unusual filming assignment, matched in size by the economic impact it brought to southern AZ. Be sure to catch it on TV during the Super Bowl this weekend.
